Opening Session Berlin, Akademie der Künste

The “Climate Walk” has began concurrently with the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP 17 in South Africa and will discuss the relationship of art and climate for the duration of one year in the Passageway of the Akademie der Künste. The project makes accessible the interdisciplinary archives of knowledge in Germany and abroad and invites participants to contribute questions and comments.
Global crises, climate change, requisite transformations of society in the sense of a viable long-term “culture of co-operation” and new positions that creatively research a responsible-minded art of life constitute the background of the project.

A joint project of the Akademie der Künste, Berlin and ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe— distinguished as “CECEL – Cultural Event” by the Council of Europe.

Concept: Freddy Paul Grunert/ ZKM and Christian Schneegass/ AdK

The exhibition is an official contribution to the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.
